My Day In LA
Last month I got to spend a day down in Los Angeles to do some sourcing for clients. LA is one of the top cities for shopping for Interior Design- up there on the list with New York, Paris, and London. We are so lucky it is just a short drive to this design mecca. On this particular trip, I got to visit some old favorites as well as check out some new showrooms that have been on my list.
I drove down Melrose to my first destination- Galerie Half. If you follow me on Instagram you saw my excitement and awe and I walked through this showroom. It was filled with beautiful and simple vignettes that varied in texture and scale. This is a great store if you are looking for that "perfect thing", whether it's art, lighting or furniture because everything is really special.
Right next door was an amazing restaurant called Stuff'd Dumpling Shop. Not only was the presentation and plating beautiful but it was so yummy!
Then onto Apparatus Studio. My mind was blown by this showroom. The attention to detail of everything was so inspiring. The displays played with the light and texture fo the walls and it was breathtaking. I found some perfect lighting options for a client here that we will be installing this fall!
I wanted to beat traffic home but could not miss stopping into one of my favorite clothing stores American Rag Cie. I love this shop, and always walk out with something. I got this dress and I love it; it’s from a brand called Mii. It has soft cotton print and is super comfy. I will wear it with black boots or white sneakers to keep it edgy, otherwise, it goes dowdy.
One last stop, I can't resist stopping by Maison Midi for a treat since it's right next door to American Rag. I had their Coconut gluten-free cake. Of course, it was delightful!
